WHAT DOES DLP STAND FOR AND I LIKE THE SAMSUNG, THEY HAVE REALLY STEPPED THEIR GAME UP

 

Digital Light Processing I believe. It uses tiny mirrors along with a colorwheel to give you a very smooth cinematic image.

Btw, Samsung would be a great choice. At the price and model level, I saw the two sitting next to each other in Circuit City. The Samsung had great lighting and what seemed to me more realistic colors. The Mitsubishi had deeper colors but sometimes seemed a little overboard. I am more than sure all this is adjustable though. Both are great. I plan on getting the Mitsubishi due to the larger size possibly, but by no means is the Samsung out of the race.

If anyone wants to buy a 42" 720p/1080i Samsung DLP with a 2 tier glass entertainment stand (~320 new) both in flawless condition for $1350, lemme know.

 

DLP is a technology from Texas Instruments, who loves to come to University of Maryland to recruit our engineering students, promise them big things and then pay them like **** .

imo DLP is nice and all, but it just not as good as the latest LCD technology. but i mean thats why there is a price difference, so for that price its a good bang for the buck

 

Seeing LCD's side by side with others such as plasma and DLP doesnt make a large enough difference for me to warrant the extra money. LCD's black color still isnt cutting it imo
