I am going to the MD Renaissance Festival this Saturday. Actually will be heading up on Friday night and staying till Sunday morning. A bunch of other people I know are going to come up on Saturday morning just for the day.
For those who haven't been before, it is really fun. Kind of like a carnival but set in medeval times. Lots of beer, meade, good food, axe and knife throwing, and jousting.
This Saturday is Celtic weekend so it should be a lot of drunken Scottsmen and Irishmen (me included).
No you do not have to dress up like a medeval person. In fact if you do, your a dork. But it is fun to get drunk at laugh at all the dorks there.
The festival is Annapolis, which is only about an hour away from Fairfax.

of course not...slavery hant been invented yet...why not go there and be part of the show....put a chain leash around your neck and act like a retarded 4 yr old with down syndrome...then you'll be the first brotha enslaved in that time period.

 

thats because they were eating turkey during that time period. they only started eating chicken much later...
