Ok, this happened the week of my wedding, but it is finally getting resolved.
Two days before my wedding, the groomsmen go to pick up their tuxedo's and everything is cool. Later on that night I was dropping one groomsmen off at his hotel. We are driving downtown and the groomsmen said "Look there is a cop w/ his lights off" and I'm like "Ok, so what". So we keep driving and about 1/2 mile down the road, this cop come outta nowhere and my groomsmen says "Damn, what is his hurry" and I said "He aint after me", when in fact he was after me. So he pulls me over asks for license and registration. He comes back and asks "Is this your car" and I said "yes". he says "Are you sure this is your car, do you have an insurance card to show me" and I'm like "Yeah, but whats the problem". The cop says "Well I believe you". I said "why did you stop me" and he said "That I was speeding, doing 47 in a 35" and I said "Your wrong, I was only doing 38 maybe 40".
The cop then asks me to step out of the car and he brings me back to his car and he has me stretch over the side of the car to search me and then he put me in the backseat. He then proceeds to fiddle around w/ his PDA and he ask me "Have I ever lived in Memphis" and I said "No". He says "Are you sure" and I say "Positive, whats wrong". He says "I have a warrant for your arrest" and I'm like "WTF" and he says "But I wanna make sure".
So then another cop which happens to be his supervisor pulls up and asks "Is this the guy" and other cop says "Yeah, but he dont like no killer" and I'm like "WTF is going on here". The supervisor says "Gimme his license/info and lets see what I get out of the database". The supervisor comes back and says "The database shows that he has a suspended license in Georgia and there is a warrant for his arrest". Now already you 2 different stories betweens the cops database.
Next, the dispatcher comes on after she does her check into my info and says "Negative on both, he is clean" and the cop says "Are you sure" and the dispatcher says "Positive, no match". So they let me out of the backseat and hand me back my wallet and cellphone and tell me to wait there while he goes and talks to his supervisor. After about 5 min, the supervisor pulls off and the original cop comes back and say "Sorry about that misunderstanding" and I'm like " Yeah alright, everythings cool" and hes says "Yeah, but I still have to right you a ticket" and I'm like "You got to be kidding me, after you have put me through this show, why?" and he said that his supervisor who just left told him that the area that I got stopped in is called the "Blue Crush Zone" and that ANYONE who gets stopped in this zone/area, that "We have to write them a ticket, no matter what".
So the cop proceeds to write me a ticket for 5 over the speed limit (40 in a 35), which is a $30 dollar ticket that I have to mail in and it will take 2-4 points off my license or I could fly back and dispute it and the judge possibly might throw it out.
As soon as I got back home, I called my lawyer and my court date is Sept 20. We have finally worked this out to where I dont have to appear in court and it will be thrown out w/ no points, but if I had a BS flag is my trunk, I would have surely waived it in his face.
After this shyt, I need to catch vittalago (John's illness)
. But anyway, This just makes me hate cops even more.
Sorry for the extra long post.
