Forget supra.....how about this..
"LF-A: Lexus' two-passenger, high-performance sports car will be unveiled at the same time as the Japan Formula One race moves to Toyota's home, Fuji Speedway, in the fall of 2007. It is likely that a big 500-hp V-8 will be the powerplant, as a V-8 has weight and packaging advantages over the all-but-dead V-10 program. It would arrive in the United States in spring 2008."

This looks like they're talking about 2007; I wouldn't expect it that soon.
If the LF-A comes to the US in 2008 I would expect the Surpa to not be far behind. They would loose ALOT of money if they had the LF-A be the only vehicle on that platform.
Until Toyota says offical one way or the other I'll be out here waiting.

It will be sweet though...
I dont think Supra and LFA could possibly share platform, LFA is midengined. If anything Supra which i believe in autoweek in that its not coming, would be on the IS platform.

The GT-R will give it a run for its money. Note the GT-R will no longer carry the Skyline name at ALL. Nissan is finaly unpairing the two so that people no longer refer to the Skyline as being this awesome car with turbos and AWD. The Skyline has never been an awesome car. The current V35/G35/350GT is hands down a better car than previous Skylines.
The GT-R was and will always be the penicle of automobiles.
There have been many mid engine cars that were not "super-cars". The first that comes to mind is the MR2 (now discontinued, again).
And yea, the fan that you see is probably part of the radiator/cooling system.

The LFA according to various magazines ive read is supposed to feature a very expensive MR platform using exotic and expensive materials such as CF and Alluminum. The car is suppsoed to weigh in around 2800 lbs. I highly doubt
heres my reasons why there wont be a Supra any time soon.
1) it would not make economic sense to make a Toyota sports car thats targeted to start in the high 20k, low 30k range using this expensive MR FLA platform.
2) there is already a great FR platform used by the IS350 that would make much more sense for the Supra's price range.
3) Supra has traditionally been a FR car, if in the unlikely event that they indeed build a toyota sports car using the LFA platform, i highly doubt theyd call it the Supra. Itd be more like MR4 or something.
4) there hasnt been a single supra concept from toyota for this car. usually a manufacturer comes out with a concept years before production. see 350Z, GT-R, LF-A, they have had prototypes running at Nurburgring years before they are coming out. All we have are magazine artist renderings. not even an official toyota artist rendering. So its unlikely toyota is bringing out a Supra.

Every car company needs a solid sports car, at the very least a sporty car. Right now Toyota has neither. It is those cars that drive technology through the rest of the line and make things more affordable in the long run.
I do admit that having a mid-engine Supra would be unconvential, but if you recall the last Supra was a major diverance from previous models, so they've already shown us that they aren't set on having things stay consistant.
I have always been a HUGE Toyota fan, but if they don't come up with something for the Toyota line I feel that it won't last another 10 years. Then we'll be left with Scions and Lexi, joy joy.... And if the LF-A ends up with its own unique platform i fear that the cost will put them above their competion and they wont sale. Why pay 110-120k for the LF-A when you can have an M6 with more proven technolgy and equal performance for $90k.
