Neither. I get resistance - if you push it in vs. letting it slide in on its own (as it does with a very good rev-match), it grinds and sometimes feels like its trying to spit the selector back out.

I would think so, with lighter clutch and smoother bite, it should make rev matching easier since it'll give you a wider margin for error. I think with 03-04, we sorta have to hit it right for a smooth transaction since the clutch bite really hard and allow for less feathering i suppose.

wait a sec...

this is how I rev match...

am I doing it wrong??

clutch down

select gear

rev to desired rpm

release clutch...

Lek - you're fock'd man... ha... j/k... if your tranny is loud, i think you are...

As for your different sequences, the latter is better, because the synchro works when you're selecting gear - so better to have all things spinning at their proper speeds and make synchro do less work... in the former sequence, synchro does alot of work, and all the rev match does is reduce potential drivetrain shock

His third gear is fock, everytime he try to put it in third...hard or easy, it will grind loud man. Yours is normal, you will KNOW if it's fock.

OK.....so you're saying its better to put it in gear after you rev to desired rpm. I'll try that maybe it'll be a little better.

Also whats the rpm counts on the g.... like... i know for ever gear you drop its a certain amount of rpms you need to increase by...does anyone know?

Agreed, I clutch, gear out, rev, gear in,cluth out. I find it easier to get in gear after a blip of the throttle to get the rev up.

I'm no expert but I usually short blip of throttle for one gear, which is usually 1-1,500rpm. For 2 gear I hold the blip a lil longer say 2-2,250rpm. Maybe my numbers are a lil over stated, so the lower of the my range is more accurate.

i don't have the answers to actual rpm value, but its a function of the relative gear ratios, so 3 -> 2 is different from 5 -> 4 ... that's why we all need our synchro's and can't get perfect rev matches

i dont think its true that we can't get perfect rev matches because I do see some people rev matching perfectly....
