^yea but what does that mean for us..does that mean we have to start replacing our engine parts just to pay for cheaper gas & for our engines not blow?

Japan uses higher octane fuel than we do. This is one of the other reasons why you can't stick a JDM ECU in our cars (different fuel maps). I'm sure 10% ethanol will not increase the temp of the car enough to cause any damage; especially since these cars are already used to running higher octane.

it would actually cause problems. you would end up getting pre detonation. thats not what you want.

I guess it really depends on what kind of race fuel he's talking about. That can mean several things. It is always wise to tune your cars ECU or fuel management to what you will be running. BTW clockwork is correct...I just wanted to say that because what I wrote above sounds kind of contradictive.

Racing fuel is harder to ignite, but when it does it creates one h*ll of a boom. For instance if you put jet fuel in your car it would never start, the inginition temp is too high for your car to even light it.

Sorry, but that's not necessarily true. It depends on what kind of race fuel you're using. Igniting it is the least of your worries with race fuel.

i think the fuel he said was octane 94....it was something like that i dont know if thats racing fuel or not but i do remember him saying it would cost about $4 a gallon. But i would only use it on the track thats way too expensive for daily driving.

Note I am refering to intentional ignition within the combustion chamber.

Only needed on higher compression engines.
