Hey guys, remember brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air. Thus if you spill it on your paint accidentally, then flush the painted surface with lots of water and a wet cloth to remove it immediately and there shouldn't be any paint damage. Do it quickly however. It doesn't take long for it to start damaging the paint. Also don't suck out all the fluid from the master reservoirs because you might introduce air into the system. Leave enough to cover the small entry ports of the reservoir and when you finally bleed the system the little that's left in there will be flushed out.

You're right, bleeding the system after swapping pads would be ideal, but sometimes not possible. Fortunately, I have never had an issue introducing air into the system by taking excess fluid out of the master cylinder reservoir using a syringe. After this next track day the track pads should be about as thick as the street pads so it won't be an issue for a while.
