Disappointing times in the 1/8

Not too thrilled with my performance last night, I felt like the track was hooking nicely.

This was my first time at the track with the G, so maybe I can shave a couple tenths off with more practice. My only mods are the r2c intake and lowered springs.

The first run I launched softly and ran my fastest time, so I hot lapped and got in line to run again. That run I decided to launch a little harder and ended up with a slipping clutch halfway down the track, so I let up. The pedal got super spongy during that run.

Let the car cool for about 30 minutes and did one last run with a much less aggressive launch. Nearly identical time to my first run. Close enough to do well in bracket racing lol.

Any way, I think I need to upgrade my clutch, flywheel and fluids. Then head back to the track for some more aggressive launches.

What were you expecting? I checked the 1/4 time slips and their 1/8 of the run are similar times.

That's not bad, just remember no matter how good you shift the 7at is going to be faster. Make sure you're comparing your slips to manual cars. Stick shift cars take a lot of practice and with more seat time you could probably knock off some time and pick up a little mph. Based on your 60 foot, you're launching the car well. As far as spongy feel, try bleeding the clutch fluid before going to the track, I know that helps on my GTO.

I was hoping for high 8's and a slightly lower 60 foot time. I would have stayed a bit longer and done more runs, but with the way the clutch was acting I only did 3.
