You have to ability to remember what i said but you cant seem to remember that mine is an automatic, and if you look close enough his says he has a 6mt. 6mt is not an automatic, try to remember that. then also try to remember that automatic have less power than manuals.

so review for the staff.

automatic less power than manual

manual has advantage at track

6mt=manual

i have an automatic

the 13.2 post has a manual

sorry to be an *** but its like you're daring me

Since you trapped about 2mph more than the IPL, you are probably making about 15-20hp more than him. You were slower out of the hole. It's not a big deal.
im not a math major but 50% of my track time doesnt come from the first 60 feet.

Here's what I'll try to remember. You put bolt ons on your car and got a (claimed) 50 HP gain. You dropped your 1/4 mile time about a half a second by doing so. You feel that the few thousand bucks you dropped to shave .5 seconds wasn't well spent. You believe that a 6MT G37 makes more power than an AT one.

Did I miss something?

i have dyno files and i can make a dyno sheet for you so you can remove the claimed part. and im not satisfied how close the ipl is to my time. i mean im impressed with the ipl, and its better than i expected but before the race i didnt think it was going to be that close

hopefully you can see, it went from 243 to 283. when i dynoed at 243 i currently had stillen catback, stillen crank pulley.

since the 283 dyno, ive had my car dyno tune on a mustang dyno and hit 290 from 277. so the dyno sheet has 40 difference and i gained at least 10 hp from the catback, crank, and dyno tune so i say conservatively gained 50

Posting your dyno is great, there's a thread specifically for them in the stickies. Be sure to post it up there as well. To clarify, I didn't say claimed because I don't believe you. I said it because all numbers posted on the internet are claimed unless there's a piece of paper to show. Just like your timeslip.

Now about this MT/AT power difference... how much more power is my 6MT putting down than the exact G37 car in AT form?

i have no idea, id really like to know. but ive been told at least 15 wheel hp. but until you get 2 stock vehicles of the same year on the same dyno you wont know, but even then cars that are the same everything stock can vary 5hp. either way manuals have the ability to "drop the clutch" and if they have a good setup (tires) and know how to prevent and handle wheel hop their 1/4 time will be better.

the best i cant do in my car is hold the brake and rev just enough to where i dont spin my tires.

What I believe is both AT and MT have the same hp at the crank. However the AT has more drive train loss when dynoed compared to the MT. Is that what you mean OP because I dont think the MT have more advantage in hp.

IPLs suck...................(smart a** comment done)

Really if you want more out of a G or a Z you need to go FI. You can do all you want to a VQ and its just not going to change much. Its not a mod friendly engine. Weight etc will make changes but FI is going to have the most bang for your buck. These cars are not like Subaru's or Toys where you can get a lot more HP out of the car with little investment.

I personaly did not but a G or the Z for its lightning fast speed.

Has anyone compared the 5AT to 7AT? It seems to me the quick shifting of the 7AT could be the key here to such close times. I'd like to see the op's mods on a 7AT

From: Framingham Ma,
I also think it is in the tranny, The 7SPD I think is geared to be quicker hat then 5 SPD. ( Smaller gearing)

As far as the AUTO VS MANI WHP, I thought it was 15WHP but I made VERY good numbers on my 7SPD before( 298 WHP) and after my Stillen SC (412WHP). So not really how much of a difference is there?? But this looks like either I weight issue or the 5SPD tranny shifts SLOW.. IPLS are only 18WHP more( Supposed to be) than the S modle, But all the track numbers I saw Stock for Stock the cars where almost dead even.

the 5at has quicker downshifting for sure. as for an upshifting, i dont know. but the move times you have to shift in the 1/4 usually hurts your time. in the first post i stated the ipl 7at was completely stock
