yes, agree. Launch is very important. You guys get better times from slamming the gas to the floor or brake torquing it? if what rpm?

All the published times for the sedans are 0-60 around 5.0-5.1 whereas the coupes are around 5.3-5.5. I don't care if the sedans have 2 hp less but if they weigh less they will 100% still be significantly faster. I totally agree that Infiniti makes zero sense in doing this and IMO are shooting themselves in the foot by doing it but regardless, it does seem to be the reality. Weird but a fact.

This difference in weight bewteen the 7AT sedan and MT S coupe is less than 60lbs..... It would be almost impossible to measure the acceleration differences by that small of a margin.

I was comparing more the AT sedan to AT coupes than AT to MT.

How else do you explain the big difference in the numbers between the coupes and sedans?

Research the weight of both cars (Sedan at to Coupe at and Sedan mt to Coupe mt), there is not but a small differance in weight. I have posted links repeatedly I am tired of doing so at this point. Go to Infiniti's web site and it tells all.

So the 2012 coupe sport 6MT is 3708, and i think the 2008 5AT was 3770...

Do AT's usually weigh more than MT's?

Yes. By a transmission perspective.

Anywhere from 20-60lbs.

yea, and they have more to turn so their dyno hp is less too.

First off, I would like to thank the op for sharing his experience. I already have R2C and I was actually going to get a CBE/HFC combo and UPREV dynode tune, but now I’m second guessing going thru with upgrades. I was hoping for some decent performance power, but I don’t want to spend the money and then be disappointed with minor gains. Might end up just getting the exhaust system for looks, sound and minor gains and call it a day. So yeah, I'm more enlightened with this thread. Much thx.

No problem, I dont want to lead people away from performace modding because it is fun and since i got to dyno my car each time i was able to see the gains as it came along, but i was just disappointed that i was just barely beating the ipl. I gained considerable power and tq and shaved a good amount of time of my original 1/4 but in the end i spent thousands and barely beat a stock ipl. given i was on bald tires but o well.

for the money hfc are a good deal youll get 10 and cost you 500-600. i cant say what cbe will get you cuz it was on my car when i bought it. uprev will be worth it also if you get it dyno tuned which is around 600-700 and see gains around 10-20 good luck

Do you think the 7at coupe would of done alot better? It seems alot of people say the 5AT is far from matching the performance of the 7at coupe from off the line...
