1/4 mile, 6MT, and Skill - Dynos not welcome

Today I searched: "trap speed" and "1/4 time" - 0 results. Found threads about 12+ hp gain and $$ to spin a Dyno - a metallic cylinder in the ground. How about results?

Any of you actually take your car to the track? Man up and put some tire to the road.

I took my 05 to the track and ran a 14.7@98. But TBH I am afraid of taking the 6MT. I can't launch this car worth a **** and my tires don't stick at all.

My best time was a 13.7X with my moded G37S 6MT. (mods in signature)

I'm sure I could have done better runs but my 2nd gear started grinding so I called it a day...

Island Dragway First Run w/ the G35 6MT Sedan - YouTube

dont try to go on a track with stretched tires .... you can't really hook... and also w/ heavy 2 12" subs in the trunk.... i was prepared for a car show and wound up doing the track event as well...

at least i got my 60' foot down to 2.1..... but a crappy 14.001 all day long and couldnt get out of 99.97mph

that was out of my '07 g35 6mt sedan w/ 75k miles on it

The 2.396 60' time killed you. With a good launch you can probably get around 2.0 and get you 1/4 mile into the high 13's.

i took my '04 G35 6MT sedan to the 1/4mile track once on a hot summer night. 14.3 @ 98, with a 2.1 60'. i'll see if i can find the slip, that was a few years ago. still waiting for an opportunity to run the G37. i'll definitely take it to the road circuit near my place!

i found the best launch was at ~2500rpm to minimize axle tramp and wheel hop, with the right amount of wheelspin. anything under 2000rpm just bogged down.

I prefer having to actually go up and down in gears and turn my wheel I don't know if that's manning up or not

Some like going fast in straight lines, others like going fast around arcs... I think the latter provides more thrills.. especially when there's no guard rails and long drop offs
