Any time I have ever gone in for more than an oil change, I was given a free loaner.

*shrug*

Now I just choose to do all maintenance I am capable of doing on my own.

Couple of things...

1. I don't know why this 335i post belongs in this thread

2. Infiniti gives you a loaner when you do service there too, just like BMW.

3. Buying ANY car as an investment is a stupid idea, and BMW may have a better residual value, but it also has higher acquisition costs, so at the end, you're not making money on it

4. I hope that for the 26.5% premium in price when equipped the same as a comparable G37x it does offer something better in return.(57,175 vs 45,245)

If you want a base model 335x for 44,925, be my guest, but with no Bluetooth, HID lights, leather seats, Navigation, IPod adapter, or any other features the G37X has for that price, you can see why people that don't feel like dropping close to 60k on a 3 series (m3 being the exception) choose the G.

I agree about the value proposition, however, every time a 335 or 335is passes me, I just wish....

Totally not the point of this thread, and no, he would not be much faster.

Driving on a track is nothing like drag racing on a street.

Multi Billion Dollar F1 racing cars does not rely on SC nor TT's nor T's. However they rely heavily on tires, balance, aerodynamics, and weight. Most of the fastest lap time record held on racing tracks worldwide are after heavily 1K+ HP turbo charged F1 Cars.

To the OP: I am on the east coast and the only close tracks to me are Carolina Motorsports Park and Roebling Road. CMP is hard on the brakes so I was wondering what kind of pads are you using. I have already changed out fluid for ATE and stainless brake lines but the pad choice has my head spinning LOL. I have already done suspension work and dual Setrab oil coolers up front so I think I am ready for a track day. Oh by the way this is an a G37S. Thanks

IMO you are more than ready. But at the track pads are most important. Here in Socal, we have Buttonwillow Race track, a 2.9 Mile coarse. When I was doing 2min 18sec with all stock, no issues. With late braking and faster lap times. I started to get brake fade. @ 2min 13sec, I replaced OEM pads to Hawk HP+. @ 2min 11sec, signs of fading with Hawk. So I replaced with Carbotech and now under 10 sec, and still no fading. However I did retrofit brake duct, and flushed with Motul RBF 660. Other than that all rest of my brake system is stock. I know Carbotech cost around $400 for our G. But it is worth every penny.
