Those who missed SV March 2011

Me and couple of friends have already registered on NCracing.org Next event Saturday April 2, 2011. And Sunday April 3, 2011. Two days of Track event at ButtonWillow Raceway 13CW for $228. No need for coupon code, since that is their member price. An annual Membership with Northern California Racing is only $30. Non members have to pay $20 extra if you are going both Saturday and Sunday.

Now I want to share about my experience with NCracing. First I was skeptical, I think many of you guys would be as well. For little over one day racing fee charged elsewhere. They are allowing two days of fun? Will there even be flag at the posts? Is it going to be a safe environment? How about their service?

All exceeded my expectation and more.

1. Yes they attend flags at each and every posts. Otherwise Buttonwillow will not allow them.
2. No there are no hidden fees. Other than extra $2 PayPal Fee if you decide to PayPal. But send them a check they accept personal checks. No fee added.
3. Event since it is not jam packed like others. It is actually safer. Less Traffic, and longer session times. Even with accidents they deliver all the track time they promise. 4+ bonus session Saturday. And 5+ bonus session on Sunday.
4. Yes Yonathan, I may have miss spelled his name. From NCracing when a Mazda caught on fire. Acted voluntarily to remove the driver. And put out the fire. Had problem opening the hood, but were able to squeeze through and put out the fire. You guys can YouTube and see actual footage.

So no coupon code, just great price and greater service. Hope to see you guys out there. I have registered both Saturday and Sunday.

My review of Hawk HP+ Racing Brake Pads

Dear Track enthusiasts

Whenever I go to Track. After few sessions my brake starts to fade. I am currently using Hawk Performance Ceramic both at the track and everyday use.

So for my next track event I am going to change my pads to Hawk's Racing Pads. You could use racing pads on normal streets, because they are street legal. But for normal everyday use they are not going to be fun. Because of the noise. But at the track, they will hold up higher temperature without fading my brake performance.

Hawk pads are perfect for me. For average joe like me, they are economical, high performance, and without any hype like other fancy ones do. So no gimic just great performance for much much less.

NCRC is run by, literally, a bunch of rich guys who want to subsidize their race group.

If they break even, they're happy

No more brake fading at the track

Lets start. Pads exposed. All dirty inside.

After removing pin, rod and bracket.

Removed only the pads without removing Rotor. Inside all dirty

Inside after cleaning using break cleaner.

Apply Caliper grease lubricant

Consider Cleaning also the bracket, Rods, and the pins.

ALL CLEAN AND DONE If you want to make the calipers shine, now is the time. Spend little extra time and clean them.

What type of noise are we talking about here...high screaching?? If not it might be worth everyday use if they perform as well as you say they do...at least for the way I drive everyday.

Bedded properly, noise should be minimal.

Bedding them properly is not an easy task, and generally cannot be done on the street.

They sound like a bus stopping with our OEM rotors. As Mike said with proper bed-in less noise. However with Stoptech Drilled and Slotted, no noise at all.

After Buttonwillow last Saturday, no noise. Track is best place for bed-in your brakes.
