The 7AT makes less power to the wheels.

less power, but with more aggressive gearing, it can produce better 1/4 times. And the power difference isn't something to really brag about. its only slightly less.

but in the end of all things.. there both a drivers race.

Not bragging, just pointing out facts as someone else did on the gear differences. More gears equal more shifts and that cuts times down as well. Cars don't make power to the wheels during shifts.

There's also the added curb weight of the AT vs. the MT.

Overall power to weigh ratio is better on the MT.

with the smoothness of gear shifting and not missing a gear, AT wins.

added curb weight depends on package, options and driver weight.

AT goes into manual mode and can hold any gear like 6mt can and without missing a gear.

same driver same track same everything. 7at will put up better times than 6mt.

The 6mt is a bit faster, road and track got 13.6 and 5.1 to 60 out of a 10 6mt sedan.

car and driver got a 5.0 and a 13.6 out of a 7at sport. I was getting 5.1's and 5.2's back when I had 17 inch wheels and a hypertech tune. A good exhaust and some hfc's and a rela tune would have gotten in the 4's I bet. Regular old Journey sedan.

Hm thats good, might be because of the wieght difference, usually base 37 7ats are faster than sports.

that may be true, however R&T also has professional drivers behind the wheel for their testing. Average Joe vs. Average Joe....7AT gets there first, especially cuz the 6MT driver will likely have a poor launch, a slow shift, and/or a missed shift altogether. I was able to post 13.61, bone stock & first night ever on a legitimate dragstrip in my loaded 7AT sport.

Who wants to bring their stock 6MT sedan to Sacramento on a Wednesday night so we can find out either way & put this debate to rest.

^^just sayin'. Everyone could debate this all they want, but win, lose, or draw....there's only one way to find out and I'd be happy to rep the 7AT's. Either way, whoever would get to the stripe first....it would be by about half a fender or less.
