OKZCC Track Event April 5 2009 PICS
This past Sunday I took the G to the track for the first time. First I wanna say thanks to all the people who gave me tips in my other thread, it helped alot. The Oklahoma Z Car Club puts these events on through out the year and opens them to any car enthusiast. They are a great group of people and I will defiantly be doing more of these again. Other than the sh!tty weather and 35mph winds it was alot of fun. There was a wide variety of cars there from old Z race cars to mini's and vipers.
As for the track, the G managed really well. With the colder weather I didn't really have to worry much about things getting too hot. The first session I started off taking things easy and getting used to the track and how the car handles. I left it in DS mode with VDC on and just got used to taking the turns. The second session I pushed it a little harder. I used the paddle shifters which made a huge difference, DS mode was good but sometimes it had trouble finding what gear it wanted to be in. My friend riding shot gun said he could really tell a difference when i used the paddles. Probably between a combination of the temp outside rising and just pushing the car more, the brakes did start to fade on me after a few laps, but nothing too terrible. I will probably be investing in some track pads and better brake fluid for next time. Handling the car felt great, there was very little understear and the body roll wasn't quite as bad as i was expecting. I am looking into getting some sway bars though in the near future. I was running with two old Z race cars who led the group, then a g35 and two 350z's. The guy in the 35 had some mods and had driven before so it was tough to keep up with him, but I was leaving the 350's in the straights.
Overall it was a really fun day and I cant wait to do it again. I just hope the weather is better next time. I managed to get some pics, but not many of them turned out too good. And my dad handled the video camera so those are pretty much worthless. lol ( I'm gonna have to give him a lesson in taking vids) Anyways.... time for some pictures!

No I left it on, back thinking about it now I could have turned it off. Once i got faster in the turns I could really feel it come on and hold me back sometimes. I will definatly be turning it off for the next one. Since it was still my first time and the track was really slick from the cold weather I didnt want to risk anything yet.
Nevermind. It's my stupid work filter saying you're trying to hack into my computer. Lolz.
