What Class AutoX

I currently run F stock at the local SCCA autox, but I am thinking about front and rear sway bars and a Strut tower brace. I know the Front sway is allowed in F Stock but I also know the Rear is not and I am reasonably sure the ST Brace is also not . what class(s) can I run IF i add the rear sway and STrut tower brace. I looked and I think I know the answer but I am interested in others answers.

I don't know much about Auto X classes, but you can get great handling benefit from just the front sway bar and leaving the rear stock. Don't know what to tell you about the strut brace. Maybe use underbracing instead if it's allowed?

yea , I think the rear tires are too wide for STX. I know from experience it would not be very competitive in STU. I would be up against STi's

I think I may put on the Front sway which is allowed in F Stock. Then I can ask the local Guru's and see what they say about the rear sway and STB.

But if anyone here knows the answer please post.

Doesn't the rear bar just push you into Prepared?

I guess it depends on your club. The one I go to you could just run Street Tire - Non Stock with a PAX multiplier.

I just run Time Only as it lets me take passengers and I'm not really there to compete.

The rear sway bar alone will put you into STU, you can't run STX because of 1) our 3.7L engine, 2) 8.5" rear wheels if you have an "S" model. I'm in the same boat, but I have a second set of wheels with R-Comp tires which put me into E-Street Prepared...STU/STX are street tires 140 UTOQ only. Depending on your area ESP is much less competitive than STU, at least for me it is. Hope that helps and good luck!

Ok, I just read this and it sounded lame, let me clarify, I LOVE good competition but I HATE getting crushed by EVOs and WRXs every weekend...

+1... I'm not planning on AutoXing, but I'd be interested in understanding the rules.

Anyone have them?

AutoX Rules

Ok, I was wrong, you can run STX, if you get 8" wide rear wheels...will anybody notice...probably not but who cheats in amature racing? The 3.1L limit is for STS. Basic car category allowances attached.

Thanks, STU was what I thought. Interesting about the E Street Prepared. I ran STU with my WRX STi and ended up modding it and getting some wheels with R comps and going to SM the second season. I know would get trounced in STU in the G.
