How do you dump it?
i went to the tracks and practiced my launching for the first time today. dropping the clutch at lower rpms bogged my car down. starting at 3-4k rpm and then flooring the gas while feathering the clutch gave me a 2.3 60ft time. my last run, i started feathering at a lil over 4k rpm and got a 2.1 60ft. i wish i had a few more tries to play with the take off to see what works best.

whats the 2.3-2.1 60ft?
and feather out means like slowly realese correct?
times? thanks
so i had it reved up a little past 4. right as the light was turning green, i floored the gas while releasing the clutch half way or so up to a point where i felt the friction and power being delivered to the wheels. as soon as my car caught traction i released the rest of the clutch.
as far as shifting to other gears. i havent figured out whether its best to shift at redline or right before it. shifting a couple hundred before redline MAY have helped my mine time but it was by a small amount so it could have happened just because of the run variation
lastly, a 60 foot time is basically how quick your car goes from 0 to 60 feet. it is a reflection of how good your launch is

my car is at 4400 miles and my first HARD launch EVER was my first run at cali speedway. 100+ deg weather, headwind, and 1500+ (or so i hear, but not so sure thats correct) ft elevation = disaster for a track. i red lighted, blew it and ran a 16.4..
i went and practiced a couple more launches and took my time down to 14.9 for the next two runs with a 2.3 60'
on my fourth run i hit a 14.5 with a 2.1 60ft. this is with a fully loaded pig. haha thats a 2 second improvement.. i need more practice to hit a more decent time...
my buddy with an m3 with headers, pulleys, intake, exhaust, tune, and light wheels could not break into the 13s so that gives you a hint at the conditions. heres one of our races when i ran a 14.9... watch us smoke the train haha
