i'm also waiting for some highway run youtube videos. that way we can factor out the launch and driver skill. (plus the highway is where the g37 shines )
on the drag strip, given equal drivers i would expect the 335i to win by about 0.3 seconds. 0.3 seconds @100mph may not sound like much but its like 3 car lengths. the 335i just has more downlow grunt thanks to the turbos.
to me the G37's biggest problem is traction. 245mm rear tires aren't gonna cut it for the high rpm launch the car needs.

agreed on all points.

I'd say with more rear end gear, and some sticky tires there is not reason these cars should not do a 1.8 60' would should equate to about a 13.4 1/4 mile IME

The magazines have the car at 13.0 @ 100MPH. Judging by your traps, you are at more like 13.7 @ 100mph. Unless the car gives up at 100mph, which we know it does not.
However... combine your times with the mag time at 13.0 @ 100MPH and I think 13.5 - 13.6 should be do-able in the G37 Sport. That is, I think the mags got a bad 60'
