Cold Start Delete?
I mean, WHY?
Cold start on these is active for less than 2 minutes and overall if you pay attention to your AFRs the ecu still tries to achieve 14.7 stoichometry.
SO on gas not much will be saved.

My friend with a 340i deleted his cold start and I was wondering if its possible on a VQ since it is useless with no cats. Anyone know if deleting cold start is problematic during winter months when its much colder outside?
I don't believe it it useless with or without cats. It brings up your engine and fluids up to optimal temps a little sooner. Once it drop it's a bit safer to drive. I mean like you shouldn't start it and take off flooring it for the fact that you will probably blow something due to warping the metal from cold to hot so fast.
My personal number one reason to keep it is because when it idles down I know that the oil has had enough time to lube every thing back up after it has been setting overnight.I really want my car to last.

Don't do this mod! Your engine does this to prevent wear. The longer your engine is cold, the more wear it takes on a cold start. It's basically cars 101 that our cars do this for a reason. Doing this mod is just asking for engine problems down the line way sooner than you think.
