Traffic sucks in Nashvegas!!
If you're somewhat mechanical inclined, it is no big deal. just somewhat tedious as my fat hands have a tough time with some of the tight spaces, retaining pins, etc. As far as car projects that I've done go, I would rank it at a 4 on a 1-10 scale with 10 being most difficult. Took me about 4 hours including several breaks, adjustments, and test drives.

And the instructions are very accurate and helpful. Ryan also provides his cell for any questions you might encounter during the process.

The install isn't difficult in a technical sense, but the location is a PITA because it's extremely cramped and requires a very, very uncomfortable working position. Instructions are excellent and detailed, the steps that you take aren't particularly hard but lying on your back across the door sill with your upper body pushed under the dash is horrendous. As I posted elsewhere, I got halfway through and was very frustrated and stiff. Then I took the driver seat out (4 bolts, <10 minutes to remove, <10 minutes to reinstall) and that made it much easier for me. I could lie flat on my back in the floor and could see what I was doing much better, it was infinitely more comfortable (still no picnic), and I had much more manual dexterity to do it more easily and quickly. I'd rate it a 6 of 10 doing it as the instructions recommend, a 4 with the seat removed. Particularly if you are big or have long arms.

But the result is well worth any amount of difficulty. Of the many mods I'm familiar with for this car, this one is the best.

I'm both fat and whiny, and I didn't think it was too bad maneuvering under there...maybe it was because I read all the complaints before I started and expected it to be bad haha. Maybe my 25 year old bones were just more forgiving...

Just placed the order. Thank you for the quick responces everyone. I look forward to having this done. As I said before the traffic in Nashville sucks and I was starting to regret purchasing the MT. I hope this is a game changer!

It was for me. Rush hour has to be REALLY bad before I get fed up with the 6MT now.

I saw a few people who changed out their clutch fluid when they did this. How much more involved is that if anyone has done that? thanks everyone

Thanks,

Im really wanting to do this mod but I also wonder about the warranty regarding the master/slave cylinder and any other related components.

Any feedback from the dealer regarding this mod ?

I find myself anticipating and concentrating still hard on that shift and neutral to 1st and there is no longer a need for it, it feels very natural and smooth. Very very happy with this mod. Id much rather spend a little over $200 then spend +$2000 on a new clutch due to inevitable wear over time from bad shifts. Great investment and man driving through traffic is a breeze. The adjustability is great too. Recommend to anyone not happy with the factory clutch pedal assembly. I miss nothing about it. Thanks to Ryan at RJM for producing a great product and delivering great service.
I am so glad I found this thread!
I have been mystified with my 2012 G37 vert's clutch for over a year now. I have been driving cars with manual transmissions for over 30 years. I know how to use a clutch! When I bought the car I figured I just needed to get used to the finicky clutch. But it's never happened. I always have to really concentrate on 1st and 2nd gear shifts - and even then I often get a bumpy shift. Now I see that it's not just me

I've just placed an order for the RJM clutch
Can't wait....

Awesome, you won't be disappointed! I believe Ryan (the owner of RJM) made some updates to the pedal so you should be getting the latest version. Driving is a breeze now compared to what it was before although traffic still tests me at times given I live in LA.

I started this install last night at around 830 and just ran out of time. I was able to get the OEM assembly out and started to install the new over the master cylinder but was just getting tired. My question for you experts who have installed this is in the first steps Ryan says to up-plug the two switches... I see a lot of wiring harnesses but not sure what he means by switches. I am assuming that if I was able to get the OEM pedal assemply out of the car I unplugged the correct ones.

Any input is appreaciated. Thanks

Correct. The switches are actual push buttons. One is only activated when the pedal is fully depressed (clutch disengaged). This switch allows you to start because it signals that the engine is not in a gear. The other switch is depressed when the pedal is fully up (clutch engaged). This allows the cruise control to work. When you press the pedal it releases the switch and the cruise control immediately cuts off.

Got it finished last night. Knees and back hurt today but it feels great so far. I didnt drive it much to test and adjust as my car is already jacked back up to get the Hotchkis sways and the Berks HFC's install over the rest of the weekend. Go State and Go Lions. Thanks everyone for the help and thanks Ryan for the great product.

Wow Im glad im not the only one that had this issue. I could never fully get use to the car on the 1-2 shift and I always thought it was just because this is my first MT car. I gotta get this.

To the warranty question, I took my car in for a grinding noise when I would turn the car off. They replaced my entire clutch assembly under warranty. Never said a word about the pedal.
