Speaking of Nengun, they are able to ship containers to the states for very reasonable rates. $5K or so. A shipping container can hold a lot of parts. If enough people were serious about purchasing JDM parts, this could be a great deal to save on shipping costs. A single bumper costs $700-1000 to ship air freight. If a number of buyers wanted to buy large, bulky, or or heavy parts like engines, wheels, and body parts it might be well be worth it. But trying to organize buyers is like herding cats.

Does anyone have info on a freight forwarding service from Japan that's less expensive than regular air freight rates?

I'm down. Does anyone know where I can view a lot of JDM parts? Or manufacturers, I've learned a few from the forum and on my own, but I feel like I missing something. It seems very hard to find a lot of JDM parts....pictures or descriptions. Are their websites I can view? I could order form the member in the above post, but I don't know what to order lol.

I didn't realize fake parts were so pervasive.

What parts are usually faked? I'm awfully confused since I had no idea about fake parts until this thread.

I've purchased a 2011 Infiniti G37x. Is there anything I need to check on it for fakes? It all checked out nicely when test-driving, looking at details, etc. But then again, I didn't have tons to compare it to.

Can someone elaborate? Thanks! Only mods I have on my car are LEDs, plate holders, and films (tints).

Most common replicas are wheels and body items (spoilers, bumpers, lips, sills, etc.) And just as a convention, it's not that other parts are fake, they just replicas. Personally, I tend to use the term "fake" only if the person repping the replicas are trying play them off as authentic. There are many people who don't want to drop $4k on Volks so they get some Varrstoens. Are they worse? Sure, but they'll also be fine for a daily driver. I have nothing against people buying these and using them, just as long as they know they're not the real deal.

Regarding your car, it sounds like it's not too heavily modded, so I highly doubt you have any replica parts.
