I just save the cash up and than go on a spending spree. It sucks in between but it makes it epic to get everything done at once. Also I learned a long time ago to buy best/expensive once versus buying cheap twice.

as a server/bartender i usually just set aside tip money for the "car mod" fund for the part/parts i want and then buy the part once i have the money set aside for it (after paying the rest of my bills first of course). and i agree, i'd rather pay a little more and do the work one time than go cheap and have to do twice the work.
Gotta click on this thread now & then to see how the other half lives
