Drop It?

Hey guys, currently I am living in Dallas, TX but will be moving to Minneapolis at the end of the summer. I was planning on buying a set of 20's for summer and keeping my stockies as dedicated winter wheels. I've heard 20's look somewhat silly sitting on stock suspension so I think I am going to drop it on Eibachs. My question is how well would this work in the snow, I have no clue if it is a bad idea to drop it with snow or not as I'm not sure what it's really like up there. Any input is greatly appreciated

I don't think many around here drive their coupes in the winter to begin with, let alone lowered. I've got an X though, so this really doesn't apply to me.

You would be perfectly fine driving you're car in the winter with eibach springs in it. Taylor has eibachs in his sedan, and I drove my first gen coupe with tanabes in it which are about the same drop.

Go for it! Nice subtle drop for 20's

Oh no not another guy coming up from Dallas, we didn't like the last guy that moved here . you should be good dropped on springs, just make sure you get some good snow tires to survive in deeper snow falls! Looking forward to meeting you later this summer

Man just have a beater to drive during the winters. I would never drive my G with the crap they put on roads when it snows.

I actually have a family member that is possibly going to buy a new car so there might be a small possibility of me using theirs for winter (probably won't end up happening though).

Your're probably not gonna get stuck because of the drop (If you do, it'll be because of your tires) but your front may plow a little depending on the amount of snow we have and which front you have if it isn't stock. Even with my relatively mild Z h-tech drop and nismo front along with our pretty mild winter, there were times when I plowed snow with my front and with my undertray splashguard thingy. If you have an option to drive something else, I'd take that option.

20s? Offset n width? I have 20x10 -8 225 35 and 20x11-4 245 35 n it used to looks silly. If ur is higher in offset n/or lower in width, I think you will be fine. Just gotta camber it and everything will be fine.

My vote goes towards getting a winter beater. That is what I plan on purchasing sometime later this summer/fall so I can park the car in the garage.

I'm thinking the same thing... Sell the winter wheels/tires and buy a beater. It sucks trying to get through snow when your fairly low.

I thought running camber in the snow was a bad thing?

If you need camber to fit wheels in the fender you should not be driving it in the snow

driving the g in the winter is not bad, just make sure the snow is not higher than the car. with a good set of winter tires you'll be fine. i've driven my coupe every winter since i got it back in 08.

my answer to his question was about 20s looking silly. yes true, u dont wanna drive ur car w camber in the snow. but if u buy lifetime alignment or 5 years alignment u can have them change ur alignment every season, month, weeks, or even day if u have the time.
