To protect from bugs and rock chips that might come up. Lance and I had a small competition for who could tape better. I did a better job taping but since I didn't tape mine under my hood part of it was flapping freely LOL. So I had to stop and put some tape up under there and it was perfect heading home. You shoulda seen all the ppl looking back at us when they saw the blue tape in their rear view mirrors. Apparently taping your front isn't too popular around here

 

has he heard of a clear bra??? or is that another one of his finance saving methods??

 

LOL. Andrew kind of went overboard w/ it, taping his whole front and roof of his car.

Its more for long trips. You really can't put a clear bra on unless its a freshly painted bumper, where the price for the full custom kit installed is over a grand.

We didn't tape on the way down, but did on the way home. To save from chips as well as bugs on a long trip, its very cheap and easy to do, and when we got home it was double as easy to just pull it all off carefully and still be chip/bug free.
