Oh another random rant, so my birth cert doesn't have my name on it. It only lists Baby Boy Vang on it. Just sent in an amendment/add in w/ $89 bucks. Site says working on rqsts from 9/30/11, man, I'm far down the list. Argh!!! I blame my parents haha

^^^ so technically you first name is "Baby" and middle name is "Boy" I think you should own that name and wear it proudly As for the tire question I'd say don't go any bigger than 305 on the rear and for the front 245 or 255 (if you want meaty) would work fine.

Yes, that is my name... Lol... That's what I'm branded with at work here. Even the owner calls me baby boy. Sucks though, my license expires on Jan. If don't get birth cert by then, ill have to drive to Mn to get new one so then I would have valid is to get wi license. What a headache.

I've just collected tools along the way of a bunch of DIY stuff....I would suggest investing in a Haynes Manual to help guide you with maintenance/repairs...it's very useful. Would be interested in seeing your paint work and hear your tips and tricks! I want to learn to do it also.

Get a Z tube and K&N filter and be done with it...paying anything more won't be worth the price difference for power gain...(Unless you also want something shiny in the engine)

Do you know what the HFC gains are on stock exhaust setup? Might be interested...

Damn...11" wheels and +15 (with 315's too) is gonna make you have a WIDE stance! You're definitely gonna have to roll your fenders! If I remember right...that Lambo at C&C with the 6" lip is running 315's. I can't imagine tires are gonna be cheap at that width!

Peng, tires are decently priced. And not even sure if going with 315s. With that being said, don't even know what size profile I wanna go with yet either. I've Never gone that wide or big before so kinda cluless haha... In the end, if it becomes too big of a headache, ill find some other wheels.

Those xxr wheels are exactly the ones I plan to be sporting in the spring. Kinda skeptical though.... I hate it when tire doesn't meet the edge of the wheel. Idk if there's a technical term for that. But really its a pretty big toss up.

As far as painting goes, I've been buying cheap stuff to practice. The clear I sprayed with the gun on the wheels are holding up excellent. Not to mention, I put a good couple layers on it, so I doubt it will be cracking anytime soon. 1 thing I did learn was, get the right size gun for the type of work you're doing. If I would've had a smaller hvlp gun, I wouldn't have had so much overspray. Another thing is drying time and avoiding dust. Other than that, its all good.

Right now, I'm working on a few rusted areas. If that gets done well, then ill be repainting the wifes vw.

Your wheels look professionally done! I was impressed when I saw them.. So you have a compressor and a spray gun.. man if I had room I would have a similar set-up. If I had the equipment my car would be a deep maroon or a glossy gunmetal

Thanks man! Yeah I have 2 garages. My downstairs garage is for car and misc stuff. I have a generic booth I set up. It's just a 10x10 portable gazebo. I put clear plastic around the sides when I paint. Not the most ideal setup but you don't wanna be spraying in the garage and have all those fumes lingering. Only thing that sucks is I typically paint in spring and fall only, since its outdoor and can't control temp.

The wifes car will be metallic black once I get this rust situation figured out.

Might have to come see when the temps warm back up so I can spray my new front bumper and my current rear bumper..
