Taylor, just cause he swiped your dl doesn't mean you're stuck. He has to show he meant to stop you. Was he behind you driving or did he gun you from a stop? You'd be surprised what they'll let you off for...my buddy got a ticket dismissed because the officer put that he ran a stoplight instead of a stop sign. You don't have to lie...just contest the account and he has the burden of proof.
To all our sedan owners_ I have yet to see a fully modded sedan like the two on the previous page so someone needs to make it happen this year!
I ve had this happen to me in the past and you would have to be present and hope the cop does not show to have a chance. Even then, you ll most likely have to pay a lil something but they just won't add it to your driving record.

And that was my fear, having to go to court. It was written for only 9 over so it won't effect my insurance. I would be willing to pay a fine to have the ticket dropped.
I ended up forking out just over $500 to have a lawyer stand in for me during court in Milwaukee. Unfortunately I did not have a choice of not going, but I was unable to make it (I travel for work)
I didn't really "lie", but I really wasn't offering any explanations when they found my Expedition in a ditch. I don't know WI laws, and I was drinking - although the ditch was just me trying to whip a U-turn on a dirt road that was too narrow.
Long story short, I said I wasn't driving, but couldn't explain who was (or why I had the keys, the windows were rolled up and the doors locked). They gave me all the DWI stuff, and I passed. So... they hit me with an Obstructing an Officer charge, and also wrote me a ticket for "deviating from my lane". $500 for the lawyer, $500 fine from court and another $2xx fine for the ticket. (But I kicked everyone's *** in billiards that night beforehand!)
So yeah.... if you are going to contest it, SOMEONE (not saying you) has to be there to contest. Just like you are hoping the cop doesn't show up - same thing will happen if you don't. I'm pretty sure there is no way around that (otherwise don't you think the cops would get off "for being busy upholding the law" rather than you getting off scott free?" Also think of all those horror stories you hear about child custody/support hearings where one person didn't show up for whatever reason and the judge through the book at them, and now all of the sudden they owe 90% of their pay.
In the long run, it's probably going to be best to just suck it up and consider it lesson learned. That's the b*tch about getting pulled over while traveling.

Haha, thanks! Btw, anyone looking into getting a Xoom by chance? I finally sold one today. Been busting my *** and made it happen today. I was reading on some forums and it sounds like they got a 50% increase out of it and its still really stable and batt life is A+...as if that doesnt move even more mountains between the iPad 2 and the Xoom
