Taylor I think you need to stay off the Mustang forums buddy
From those forums, how often do you see "Mustangs" on a track/course vs a 1/4 mile drag? Pure accelleration, you've got me, you'd want the lightest, stickiest tire you possibly could, with some tire height to allow some stretch. But as you stated, if we're talking "overall performance", then I beg to differ.

Keep in mind that test was only with the same tire. If you upgrade to a stickyer compound, traction goes up but so does rolling resistance. If you want a harder compound, rolling resistance goes down but so does grip. Of course you can find combos that will provide better performance and maintain weight or a slight increase. That c & d test just shows the basic physics of the idea.
all the way through a 19"
LANCE, eta is about 30 minutes. I feel like I haven't been home since last Thursday lol. I get off work, go home and change and back out for the night, get home at 130 n go to bed only to wake up early and head back into work. I can't wait for this week to be over!

They are open until 2 every night, and I wanna say 1 on Sundays....
My friends Bachelor party was last night, he just got in from Alabama on Tuesday and the night before was the pre bachelor party. Tonight will be a semi normal night, working 730 until 8 tonight and then prolly some gym and catching up on sleep at some point. I feel like a zombie from the last two days. Trying to run in the super humid weather Tuesday didnt help my cause either and we played laser tag last night for a couple hours. I won't be moving much today so I can sleep at my desk some

There are a limited number of 19 and 20 in rims that actually lighter than stock though. Quality and build of rims is a huge factor, but most composites cannot afford to make and market a large binder of lightweight wheels because the cost is high in commodity inputs. The market for $2000 rims is fairly limited. I am not against any of the points people have made throughout this discussion , I just think some people do not think about the effects of adding weight directly to the drive train can have.

I agree w/ that Thayes 4sho! I didn't argue that weight wouldn't have an affect on the drivetrain, because it most definitely does, especially torque. I was just stating that you don't necessarily sacrifice "weight" when going with a larger wheel. This is why 3 piece wheels are so expensive($3500-$4500), and often require a long wait to receive, but will always be able to charge what they do because of the custom work and materials used.
This is why I hate discussions so generalized when stating "the smaller the wheel, the better for performance", because that DEFINITELY is NOT a true statement.

you would Mike!
I'll actually be heading down to Arcadia, WI for a wedding on Saturday as well. Then might head over to Winona, la X or Roch to go out Saturday night. We shall see though!
