Single and double digit plates in Dubai are a status thing. If you can get your hand on one of those you're pretty much golden, even with the law to a certain extent.

Cheaper to make your own plate and pay the fines.

Plates would be worthless when your car's impounded and you're sitting behind bars lol

I just had to look, the auction site has a button to click for English. That plate right now is going for 720,000 AED. Which according to Convert United Arab Emirates Dirhams (AED) and United States Dollars (USD): Currency Exchange Rate Conversion Calculator is about $196,000 USD as of the time stamp of this post.

(And no, I don't have a Dirhams to US dollars converter bookmarked, just the first hit I got on Google for "AED to USD" )

ADDENDUM: Nevermind, I saw a timer in the margin. Bit over 3 days left on the auction if that was the right timer.

Oh here, the actual auction site if you don't want to type in the URL.

http://ad.emiratesauction.net/Englis...spx?plateno=37

I dare someone to sign up and post shill bids on it though....

Get it!!!!
Doesn't it work like this? One number is assigned to one person and that number is used on every car that person owns? The lower the number the more expensive?

WOW 200 Grands! That's way more than I thought it'd hit

It would totally rock if it was put on a G37 which I highly doubt lol

Hey, there actually is a license plate "K 9" here. Not a custom plate, plates in my state are X N...X being the first initial of the county, N being any 1 to 6 digit whole number. (I.E. K 314159 is probably issued, etc). So..erm..should I try to find the plate and steal it so I can sell it on an auction? Or do you think a State of Idaho plate would sell?
