Stock Intake vs. JWT Pop-Charger

I just realized the section of the video with the JWT has an audio anomaly. The JWT really sounds amazing in person.

I am not willing to trim the stock intake inlet on the passenger side, so that intake sits up a little higher than the drivers side. Stupid sh*t like that drives me crazy.

I'm selling them for what I paid, which is the GB price with shipping.

What are you talking about, trim what? I have had this intake for about 3 months now and i did not have to trim nothing. It went in flawless and i had the pre-production kit.

let me know!

thanks,

thanks,
Just as the installation instructions say. You need to trim off a small piece of the inlet that hooks up to the stock air box. I read that some people didn't have to do it and I was hoping that would be the case for me, but it turns out I'm not one of them. My loss your gain.

Peter, I know you have yours already for sale, but I also know you mentioned that you would like to keep them if it wasn't for the trim.

Hey, if by any reason you don't sell them, I'm sure you can try it again without trimming and it should get lower. I'm looking at your video right now, and I noticed that it's too high pal. Even without trimming it seems too high, it shouldn't be like that, only time I saw that was when I was re-installing my buddy's intake and I was twisting the tube to accomodate better for the inlet. I think if you try again, and just keep all the screws loose, try pushing it, forcing the OEM rubber go back a little, while you twist the tube a little, this will clear a little the front of the filter with the inlet and even without trimming it will go lower, and that's what I think you have seen in JWT instructions and in PMS1212 picture installation, I think bboysteele didn't trim either, so you can double check with him also.

Look at my buddy's installation without trimming and without playing with the tube (What I call twist), it looks similar to yours:

Look at mine also without trimming but with a little of twist and force (Notice that it got even lower than my buddy's):

And now, here is the picture after I trimmed a small piece of the plastic:

Again, Buddy, just in case you don't sell it (I hope you do) try what I'm saying, and if you need more help while doing it, drop me a PM and I will do my best to help you.

It looks like you rotated the intake about 1/16 (or so) of a turn clockwise to get it lower.

^ Yep, at the end that's exactly what I did, but I needed to play around a little, clearing the front of the filter with the inlet.

theres no potential risk of meltage or any other harm from the cone rubbing against the air inlet is there? It still looks to be getting good air and I just don't feel like trimming anything...
