This is the first I heard of the problem. Wondering did ur painter put in extra primers ? Also moving the spoiler a little down should fix it.
You must have some good hearing to hear noises like this !!!!
Hahaha... yeah I am very particular about stuff like that. Well, I removed the spoiler and the double sided tape; will reapply tape and try to move it down so it doesnt touch the roof.
Question, what double sided tape was on it before? Need to make sure that whatever I get is the same thickness.
Ok so I removed the old tape which was more difficult than i though, cleaned it up and added new 3M 1/2 inch tape. When I put it on the car on Saturday everything went fine; I moved it down a little so there was a gap between the spoiler and the roof and spoiler and the quarter panel. But on Monday, after the car sat outside for about an hour in the sun, it appears that the spoiler expanded. What I mean by expanded is that it was rubbing on the driver side quarter panel which it wasnt when I installed it and I guess because of the heat the spoiler popped off the glass so the tape didnt hold. But when I tried to push the spoiler back down it wouldnt as it was hitting the quarter panel. So now I dont know how to put it back so that it doesnt rub or unstick because its hot outside. And that is what must have happened the first time I installed it because I didnt hear it rubbing but after it sat outside for a little thats when I heard it. So my question is, why does the spoiler expand in the heat?
