Car Runs Leans With Takeda Intake in G37?
I installed the takeda long tube cold air intake on my car a couple of weeks ago. The car is getting tuned in a month or so once my RHFC’s come in. At the moment the car has the intake, m370 manifold, eps pcv breather conversion, and invidia q300 cat-back. I’ve been getting told that my car needs to get tuned ASAP because the takeda will cause it to run lean. I assumed this wouldn’t be the case since these cars are maf based and the maf will adjust to amount of air coming in. Im also not in the business of destroying my engine, so I figured I’d hop in here and see if anyone has been told the same thing, or even ran into this themselves. I know that if running lean was an issue, it would happen in the high rpm range when that much air really would be coming in. I don’t really get on the car much right now anyways, seeing as the factory cats have fallen apart and started that infamous rattle, and the flange where that cat meets the exhaust on the passenger side is slightly bent and leaking (from previous owners ****ty exhaust work). So I shouldn’t be in danger of it happening any time soon. If it will at all.
