Sorry: Exhaust with most standalone HP gain
Sorry: Exhaust with most standalone HP gain
Hello, my apologies for asking but there are so many threads it is hard to find the consensus.
What exhaust will offer the most HP gain for a 2008 G37 coupe? I see lots of options, Invidia, HKS, Greddy, Stillen
I don't care about sound or looks, I care about performance.

Thank you. Ok, I guess I don't want single exit exhaust, so looks do matter.
Out of the popular brands is there much difference in performance? HKS, Stillen? I was thinking of getting Stillen because it is so popular.

I've been on this forum for 10 years, and while opinions vary, Stillen is certainly not popular. However, you mention Stillen in all three of your comments. so it seems you already know what you want. ARK, Motordyne, Fast Intentions, GT-Haus... those are brands considered top-shelf around here.
As for performance considerations... meh. If one setup dynos 1hp better than the others (and it won't be Stillen), does it really matter?

I don't know how far you plan to mod your car, but generally a 2.5" exhaust will have less torque down below and midrange, but it will have maybe 5-10 more peak HP. It just depends where you want your power to be. Most people stick with 2.25" for N/A. This is based on my experience here and speaking directly with Fast Intentions about it.

Had 2.3 exhaust and a currently 2.5.
2.5 makes more torque and hp across the power band.
I am sure your statement is true
From FI website:
