Test Pipes Rasp

Hey installed some FI Resonated test pipes last week. Gets a bit loud rasp sound around 3k. I’m wondering if it has to do with the top speed y pipe with the flex pipe? Wondering if replacing the y pipe, one without the flex would make a difference? Yes I kno test pipes you will get some rasp
Ive heard some don’t have any rasp with the FI full exhaust set up.
I did place an SoHo Single Catback exhaust order so wonder if the y pipe without flex would make a difference or not.

Allright thanks for the help. I’ll look into Both ideas. Total of 5 resonators seems like a lot. Two for test pipes, two for y pipe and one for mid pipe on the signal exit

I had a similar set-up as you (Circuit Werks instead of FI) with HORRIBLE rasp. Once I welded in resonators, four total, there was absolutely no rasp at any point in the power band.

Allright do you have any pics of your set up?
Or could u please get a few, Thanks RMB5190

Im going to try and modified the top speed y pipe with a resonator or maybe two mini ones replaces the flex pipe, not sure if that’s a good idea or not? I ordered two 2.5 inch mini 6 inch and 3 inch 6 inch. Few different ideas see if works or not play around with it. If not I’ll just get the Motordyne XYZ-Pipe. I want this to look good. I’m pretty picky when it comes to my cars

Unfortunately, the car has been sold . After doing the test pipe install, driving it and realizing the sound was horrible, I did the resonator install. Lots of hours and time under the car to get everything just right and neglected to take pictures...I was just glad it was done and the car sounded how I wanted:

But, the closer you can get the resonators to the motor, the better. I ran Vibrant Ultra- quiet resonators on my car. Still had plenty of growl but no rasp what so ever.

RMB5190, I was super excited for the test pipes till I heard the rasp, it did really open the car up. Anyways time to fix it. I’m cut the flex pipe out and replace them with the 6 inch mini on both sides. Here’s my idea with few pics.let me know if you think this will work,Thanks for the help

I took some more measurements and I think the 6 inch would be perfect fitment but is it enough to stop the rasp,or try and go with 12 inch ? Let me know what you guys think. I’m thinking I will not need a resonator on my new signal exhaust cat back if so that would be 5 resonators

Bigger resonators WILL kill the rasp; so I can't say whether or not the smaller guys would do the job. Here's were I installed mine (Yellow) - 12's required a pie cut (1 on each) right where the bend leading to the flex section is:

Flex section came in handy getting everything to match up for me.

Allright thanks for help. I’ll just go with the mini s since already ordered and shipped. See what happens. I’ll let you know when it’s finished worked or not. I went with those because of the good reviews on them. High quality, kills rasp nice exhaust sound.

It sounds good, since I modified to my taste. Nothing obnoxious.
