Exhaust Rasp Help!

I have a 2013 G37x Sedan with a muffler delete custom 3.5 inch tips, FI resonated test pipes and 2 12inch Vibrant Resonators. 3k RPM it rasps a lot, will a resonated x-pipe help that rasp and lower down the exhaust note? Thanks!

Have you thought about putting the mufflers back on?

I don’t plan on it, but do you think a resonated x-pipe would help?

In my experience the mufflers wont reduce rasp just lower the volume, I would recommend adding another set of longer resonators. It's your test pipes that are causing that rasp. I have 4 resonators on my car and it does not rasp at all anymore. If you already have resonators on your midpipe you can try having two more resonators welded onto the y pipe which is what I have.

hey I noticed the rasp started to show more when I added both the vibrant resonators on the mid pipe, would a resonated y-pipe help you think? or just adding 2 more vibrant resonators

I would try to have those 12 inch resonators cut out and have them put on the y pipe if possible and try to put longer than 12 inch resonators on the midpipe

You need additional resonators; the closer they are to the motor, the more rasp they kill. Leave the two on your mid pipe and either go resonated X or have two more resonators welded in the Y pipe. I just went through the exact same issue.

My .02 cents; invest in a quality FI catback to match your test pipes. Been on here for so long and see so many people complain about how their exhaust sounds with a muffler delete or custom catback exhaust. Every review I've seen about a full FI setup has been nothing but positive and is one of the better systems out there IMO.

True. Cost can be a restraint though. Many would like a full FI system but dropping $1,000+ doesn't work for most people's budget.

this helped lots! I just added 12 inch resonators to replace my mufflers and it made the rasp go away completely! The sound is more deeper and sounds overall much better! Thanks guys for the recommendation!
