Y pipe with 2 3/8in outlet?
Y pipe with 2 3/8in outlet?
So I want to get a new y pipe for my car bc the flex pipes have an exhaust leak and are all torn but I have the manzo y back exhaust that has a 2 3/8in inlet for the midpipe and everywhere I look the y pipes seem to only have 3in outlets. Even manzos y pipe uses a 3in outlet which annoys me even more. Are there any options out there besides getting an oem y pipe? Can I install a y pipe with a 3in outlet anyway without any problems? Would that route mess up the sound of the car?
Yeah I just had this issue as well. I ended up with the Megan pipe and there is a tiny bit of rasp but its really not that bad. it's really weird that nobody makes one that isn't 3"
Do you hear the rasp through the entire rpm range or just a certain section and does it start to overpower the deeper exhaust note or do you have to listen to it to notice it? Also, I heard that the stock y pipe is very restrictive since it's less than 2ins so I was wondering if you noticed a power increase with the megan y pipe?
I got an ebay 2.5" y pipe for a first gen G on ebay. $90 shipped, it's the same fitment. Low quality welds but it took out 80% of my rasp, honestly it was really worth it!

Yes. I have a top speed y back and I initially had a 3" Y pipe which created a lot of rasp. I tried a lot of things including a 3" to 2.5" reducer but switching out to a 2.5" y pipe was the only thing that worked.
And the one in the link above is the one you have?
Top Speed exhaust with Motordyne 3" resonated y pipe
The Top Speed exhaust is the same and I paired mine with the Motordyne xyz pipe and it sounded great. I didn't get any rasp.
