If i cut off the canisters in the Mid Pipe of my 08 G37 coupe, will I get better performance and sound, since the airflow isn't restricted anymore? I was looking into the Meisterschaft Mid Pipe and noticed its just a staright pipe.. Is is worth the $500 for the Meisterschaft mid pipe when I can just cut out the canisters on my exhaust ??

 

The canisters you are referring to are resonators. They affect the sound of the exhaust. They aren't particularly restrictive and any performance gain would be extremely negligible, if any. However the sound would likely be raspier.

But yo could always try it out to see for yourself what difference it makes and if you like it. Worst case, you hate it and have to buy another OEM mid pipe. They're cheap used.

 

Cool. I'm thinking im going to buy the Meisterschaft mid pipe (since I'm hoping to get the entire kit one piece at a time) and if I don't like it I have the oem as a back up. Budget isn't too high so I'm trying to fond the beat route. I got a nismo 370z exhaust and it's the same as my stock just a bit throatier

 

Dont waste your money on their mid pipe. Spend the $100 and get a resonator delete. Its the same thing
