2012 G37X Sedan Topgunz S/C

I’ve been wanting to go FI for awhile now, I’m just trying to get all the supporting mods on before I think too much about it. However, I have been looking at the Stillen Supercharger the whole time. Today, I found that topgunz sells a SC kit including stillen’s but it has an air to air intercooler versus stillen’s air to water. Is the topgunz kit more reliable? And what all should I upgrade to safely boost my G?? I’ve read some people recommend fully bulletproofing their tranny to levelten and others just recommend bulletproofing their torque converter and another part in the trans I can’t remember the name... any help appreciated and if this is posted in the wrong place can a mod please move it? Still new to these forums and trying to learn the ins and outs. Thank you all in advance I’ve learned a lot from this site.

air-air is more reliable less heatsoak, and MAF placement is much better. You’ll need a bigger fuel pump, injectors, colder spark plugs. Since you’re in MN youd love to run flex fuel but tuners mostly recommend u run a return fuel system for that which is a bigger undertaking and for me is where the project cost was set back a bit but you could get away with it, i just wanted fueling outta the way so i could crank up the boost later if i wanted.
you have a coupe at least i hope? Transmission should handle a supercharger ok so long as you’re not seeking huge numbers (so if you are you’d need return fuel system and then maybe stronger transmission).

Thanks for the reply! So you’d recommend topgunz over stillen’s for reliability? I think topgunz is easier for maf placement from what I read. I may end up deciding e85 or so later but for now just 91 will be fine by me. And no I’m a sedan. I’m not seeking crazy huge numbers. Just maybe 400WHP and 450 crank. I just want to liven up my G! And wow that’s cool I didn’t know he was from MN.

Also, I thought I remembered the Stillen kit coming with spark plugs, fuel pump, and injectors. But topgunz only comes with gtr spark plugs. Would those plugs be good enough for my needs? What kind of pump/injectors will I be looking at?

come to think of it, i think stillen kit used stock injectors and just bored out the stock fuel pump. But then you definitely wont be able to run flex fuel which is the fun. But you can save that for down the line.
Buy you have a sedan so i believe you need longer charge piping to the intercooler and y pipe. So either get it fabricated, or i think i heard soho offers sedan kit?
you can always ask topgunz

Topgunz offers a coupe model and sedan model for the supercharger on their website. I’m guessing the sedan model is long enough for the sedan? And do you have any input on reliability with stillen’s kit vs topgunz?

Ive spoken with Aaron from topgunz and I think I’m gonna go with his kit. Since I’m only 40 mins from him he said he will give me a credit on the shipping cost, but he said I need test pipes and I currently have Fast Intentions Resonated High Flow Cats.. these were $1,250 shipped + Installed so id really rather not throw them out and have to pay for test pipes. I got the high flows to reduce noise and rasp, otherwise I would’ve got test pipes from the start. I noticed you posted on another HFC thread from 2016. Do you have any insight on this? I also read some threads over on the370z about people running high flow cats with their STILLEN Supercharger setup.

IMO I wouldn't run cats on a boosted car. If you're worried about rasp, run ART pipes or some other resonated test pipe.

huge disappointment. Looks like I’m gonna be selling my cats hopefully for enough to cover test pipe Cost. Less than 2000 miles on my RHFCs

You should still be able to get a decent amount for them seeing as they are barely used. Which ones are you going with? Gotta make sure they work with AWD.

Well I really liked my Fast Intentions RHFCs so I’ll prolly go FI RTPs. What’s the difference between art pipes and test pipes? And yeah they really are barely used. Seen a little bit of salt as I live in the snow belt but recently it’s been kept in my garage at nights away from the elements.

ART pipes are Motordyne's version of resonated test pipes. I love my setup but they do not fit the AWD though unfortunately. F.I. RTP are priced very well, I'd go with those. Just hit them up first to make sure they fit.
