Hey fellow G owners,

I come looking for advice as I have not bought any parts for my car yet bought it recently.
Car is from new England and A 2011 so My heat shield around my Cats are pretty rusted out making anooying!!!! rattling noise I have pretty much made the rattling noise go away by breaking off the corroded pieces but now it is back So I am looking to just replace both of them looks like an easy job.

So anyways I'm just looking for advice on what part I need and where to buy it from and any advice on the install or anything relating to my problem from your experience Thanks in advance.

I tore my drivers side off just the other day, no more rattle...id like to see what others have to say...replacing it ?...going with out it ?

 

cut them off completely with tin snips.The end.

They are part of the cats and not sold desperately...I drove for several years without them without any problems. If you really want to replace them you could wrap them with muffler tape but I doubt it'd make a difference you'd ever notice.

 

just rip them off, problem solved, drove my 35 for over 4yrs without them on and no problems.

 

How much is a replacement?

My wife hit a dead deer in her Honda Accord and it mangled a heat shield. Replacement cost me <$20 and was held in by 4 screws. I’d probably replace it if it’s reasonably priced.
