G37X Coupe Test Pipes
Im having trouble getting a good comparison between HFC v. Test pipes v. Res Test pipes. Whats the difference ?
IMO from what I read im leaning toward Test Pipes. if someone could help compare Tomei test pipes and Berk Test pipes which once has the best gains/ sound.

res tp will rasp less still as loud and check engine light.
hfc will rasp a tiny bit. Half as loud and 90 percent no check engine light.
as for power tp are all the same even tomei.
hfc maybe 1-2 less hp.
cel fix may or may not work on the berks. Not long enough. Uprev i believe you cant turn off anymore due to software license problems. Not 100 percent sure. Vibrant performance sells a j bung elbow that will eliminate the cel im currently using them on my exoticspeed test pipes. Check amazon if you end up needing them

If you notice the O2 port, that FI style is what you want, they eliminate the CELs for straight pipes.
Like Mr Mer mentioned, HFCs are less likely to throw CELs since they have a catalyst.
A pipe is a pipe if you are skipping the cats. I have resonated Beluga TP's, added an o2 extender and haven't gotten a CEL yet, about 10k ago. I guarantee they perform within 1hp of the "name brands" and I'm very happy with them.
OP, I suggest taking a look at pictures of stock cats, hfc, art pipe, and straight pipes (test pipe). I think that will give you a lot better idea of what to expect from each product.
As for what sounds the best, that's very subjective. You need to make your own judgement based on your preference.
Look up some youtube videos. There are a lot of comparisons. If you can go to a local car meet; even better to hear it in person.
