I wouldn't be surprised if the cylindrical design of the takeda filters has more surface area than the conical shape of the Stillen filters.

If the pleats are deeper than the Stillen filter, it's possible.

Idk about these guys but ive seen the install and driven them both on sedans.. coupe idk

Still support my previous post.. surface area and materials all essentially help airflow and temp. Thus meaning its all about AIRFLOW... stillen does more R&D than takeda.. piping diameters, materials, filters etc

Im not really tryna go back n forth TakedaVSStillen I was just offering some first hand experience.. Do your own research because some egos on here will sway you in the wrong direction.. Here goes some useful info from the site, with a little less ego involved.. hope it helps..

i would jus like 2 filters one on each pipe just for consistency. rather than having 2 pipes suck air from one filter.

The Stillen runs tapered conical filters, with caps on the end. The takeda has no end caps and is the same circumference for the whole filter. Visually and geometrically, the takeda has a larger filter, absent a significant variance in pleat depth.

I seriously doubt there is any difference in HP.

I got my Takeda for 415 shipped, way cheaper than the Stillen.

Seemed appropriate. Still does, actually.

You're way-y-y overthinking this stuff.

In all reality, we're talking less than 5 hp at the absolute max and in perfect conditions.

Full disclosure: I was 100% getting the Tanabe until I saw a brand new Stillen FS in the classifieds for over $100 off. Why did I still go with it over Takeda even though I say it doesn't matter? I preferred the two cone look more and I could install and be done with it. Simple as that. Could easily turn the Takeda into a two filter set up and there's a walk through on here with diameter sizes, parts numbers, etc. that you need but it was one less step I would have had to take.

That annoys you? All of this discussion for marginal power differences that will not be discernible from the driver seat.

Just noticed a super cheap short ram on amazon:
Intake KAI Intake KAI
. I know this thread has evolved into a Takeda vs Stillen throw down, but the original premise was to discuss CAI purchase options. Any one try one of these? Price is in the too good to be true category.

Wow, I cannot believe that is the price $120 + $11.50 shipping. Why is it so cheap?

cause its not really an intake, its a hot air intake which will suck the hot air coming out of your engine.

The fact it's called "Intake KAI" says all it needs to....

When you first mentioned it I thought it was a typo of "CAI" on your part.
