Fast Intentions high flow cat failure
I've read at least one instance of the Fast Intentions resonated high flow cats failing, apparently due to not being attached to a brace. Read about it in Alfredo24pr's build thread. Has anyone else heard or seen of this happening other than that once instance? I can't seem to find any other threads either here or on the 370z forum with similar issues.
I have a new set sitting in my garage waiting for installation but I really don't want to go through replacing these in a year or two due to weld failure. For the cost they really should bolt up to the stock bracing.
They're fairly light so maybe it's a fluke situation and I'm just being paranoid. I did see Rochester's post with the custom bracket. I'm sure it'd cost me another $100 easily to have someone do that for me locally plus the cost of another stock brace as it needs to be cut.
Or I could spend half the money and go with the Z1 high flow cats even though they're non-resonated. I plan on keeping the stock IPL dual exhaust and sound levels/drone is an issue hence my choice of the FI RHFC's. The Z1's, at half the price, bolt up to the stock bracket. Go figure.
If I hadn't seen the thread with the failure or if our cats were easy to install, I wouldn't think twice about it and I'd gleefully be installing them, worry free.

I was actually thinking about that...figuring I'd be able to use some sort of band clamp and rig something up. Not worried bout pretty, no one's going to be looking under there, LOL.
