after market air filters

Installed aftermarket air filters and they caused the air sensors or something to go bad witch almost shout down the motor. so morel of the story, only use factory brand. I was lucky it was under warranty.

OP - something must have gone haywire either on your install or with the filter parts themselves being defective. many aftermarket suppliers provide high quality OEM-replacement filter panels. and our air filters are about as simple to re+re as one could ask for (thanks, Nissan!).

or some other pre-existing issue led to the failure, and the new filters were just a coincidence.

It would be helpful people posted what BRAND and model of aftermarket air filter they used. I've used K&N filers for years without problems. But some people over oil them on both sides and that causes MAF issues.

Sorry to hear about your troubles...

I used aFe Pro Dry S drop in filters in my G37xS and had never experienced any issues.
No oiling required.

Highly recommended!

Yeah, sounds like either defective product or user error for sure, air filters shouldn't cause any issues unless there's something else at play.
