new owner -intake/exhaust decisions
Just got a new to me 2009 G37s coupe- working on a list of immediate mods but I am stuck in the eternal Intake/ CB Exhaust decision limbo.
Intake: trying to decide between R2C sr intakes and the Takeda.
R2D, easy of installation good looks and reasonable gains, question of how cold the air coming in is. cost about $400 (nickel black)
Takeda, better gains but concern of water getting in during driving in the rain since the splash shield won't fit. about $440 w/o splash guard.
Exhaust, torn between the CBE system from Fast Intentions $1490 w/shipping or the ARK Grip $1150 w/shipping until end of the month.
I must have read almost every review on the site. Only other performance item I may eventually add is a tune. Car will be an occasional driver as I usually take my truck to work.
Thoughts?
Thanks Josh

I have the FI exhaust. Love love love love it. You can't go wrong with either one really. But I am glad I picked FI.
As for intakes. R2c has the best filters in the business. Maintenance will be a lot easier with that system than the Takeda. This is coming from a guy with the Stillen Gen 3 system on his 2010. I know I need to clean my filters, and throttle bodies. I just don't have the time to basically take it all apart again to do so. The Takeda is pretty much the same. Just with one filter in the front vs. two. In that respect it would be easier. But ease of maintenance should be taken into consideration.
Good luck with your decisions! They are all great products.

Go with the Takeda. Looks better IMO and better gains. It's also easy to install. It was my first mod that I had ever installed on my own. Took my 1.5 hours.
If your patient and stalk the classifieds you can get one used. But you have to be watching cause those go fast used. You can get the Takeda LTCAi for around $400 if you ask the vendors on site for quotes and watch EBay, Amazon, etc. as for the water issue

The exhaust is a matter of preference. The FI is deep and sexy. I love the **** outta mine!! Mmmm. The ARK has a great sale right now which you already know about. It's also supposed to be very loud. If that's what you like then nows the time to pick it up. Before the old rush sale ends I mean. But if you get Fast intentions products you will not be disappointed whatsoever.

Nice. You didn't waste any time. The GB is a great way to go.
I wish you would've went with a long tube CAI rather than a shorty tho.
Congrats on your new mods tho!! Your gonna love them I'm sure.
