check engine light off?

have been sorta fighting with the p2a00 code for a while. new sensor, repaired exhaust leak that could be seen at this time and light is still on. go to start the car today and bam...no engine light...in my experience engine lights dont just go out do they?

Did you erase the codes after you fixed the problem. If not the light will go out by itself if the car goes through three drive cycles and it doesn't see a problem.

the tech who worked on the oxygen sensor found where the header to the cat was missing a bolt. he replaced the bolt and said he didnt see any other leaks. i feel like i can hear a leak on cold starts but no way to officially confirm it yet.

update:
still had the oxygen sensor code but now a 420 has come up with it. a few days later the light just goes out again on its own. plan on scanning again today to see if the codes are stored in the system. with me changing the oxygen sensor and then the 420 code comes up, the dealer should replace that converter under warranty correct? unless theres physical damage to it i assume.

Check the bolt that the tech replaced and see if its stretched. I put high flow cats on mine and I guess I didn't use a strong enough bolt and it stretched and caused an exhaust leak.
