Dont waste your money on intakes! Read first
It does seem clear from those that are pro CAI that there is a point of diminshiing returns once you reach a certain point. Seems as though the total sum of all the intake and exhaust mods done together, is less than the individual mods added up seperately.
When you're talking about bolt-on power mods for a contemporary NA car, $100 to $200 for every 1hp actually gained is a pretty reasonable bit of fuzzy math. And after about three thousand dollars flushed (or invested, LOL), you've pretty much maxed out. In full disclosure, I base that statement on nothing what-so-ever except my own meandering experiences, and lots of third-party BS.

Glad to see the responses. Again people are entitled to their own opinions right ? Not going to get into a whole back and forth with the people who seem to be offended like this is high school. So to clarify a little and expand on my initial post, a lot of members here do their home work on mods and go out and spend their hard earned money on them, thats fine as I am one of them. But there are plenty of ppl here on the forum and out in the real world who are constantly with this intake, exhaust etc like it actually makes the car that much faster if you want to go buy those mods fine but all the claims of this and that gain. That is the annoying part and most of these type of ppl are the one's who are claiming oh my butt dyno this tells me this and that and that is all a part of trying to justify their purchases, there are plenty of threads here like that. I simply stated that in my opinion which again I am entitled to as a member of this forum is that it is boost or go home for me and only me. Yeah im going to get an exhaust and supporting mods but that is purely to prepare for boost. I have a coupe not a sedan and yes that is my ultimate goal for this car, not right now but down the line. I also have aspirations of one day owning a gtr which will come boosted but until I can afford one I will be fine with boosting my g.
And I am sure that was a full N/A build guy, which is entails way more than exhaust and intake....

But that's just like, my opinion, man.
Had to make that bold statement, did you? I get ya.
Absolutely. But when you discuss your opinions as values, elevated through the technique of tearing other people down... the word "share" doesn't seem a good fit. And let's not be mistaken as saints, because we've all done it to some degree. I'm not proud. However, context and community matters. And in this context, you're on the wrong side of right.
Had to make that bold statement, did you? I get ya.

It ain't easy stepping back in order to step up.OK, group hug.
My passengers don't care about performance nor do they pay for anything, so I've gone aftermarket on the drivers side only - intake and exhaust. Passenger side is stock until they get jobs. Dual intake and exhaust for a reason.
I saw no improvement, but wasn't surprised since my car is vibrant red, which has been scientifically proven to be the fastest color anyway.
Sorry I had nothing constructive to add, but my boss walked by and when I'm not mashing on the keyboard he thinks I'm not working.
