Exaust that doesnt sound like rice....
So I just cashed out the last of my warranty on my little girl...
I can finally make my hubby spend his money!
First im looking for a good intake system, think imma go with the Stillen
The company has always been good to me, and I loved the quality and service I got from this company, but after that I am looking to do my exaust system..
So here is my question, we all know rice is nice, but it isnt the route I want to go. I want her to sound deeper (not constricted but more muscle car than rice) you know what sound I am talking about....
What exaust system would do best for this, given I would also like the hp boost (who wouldn't).
But what are your recommendations for a FULL exhaust with that in mind?

You're in luck because I've been researching exhausts for about 2 and a half months and I just placed an order today. You have a few options in terms of exhausts. Most of them are pretty pricey ($1000+), but the V6 in our cars sounds pretty good when paired with a nice system.
-First, we have one of the most popular exhausts, the ARK GRiP CatBack Exhaust System.
It offers a slightly louder-than-stock tone and slightly more aggressive. It's good if you don't want to spend too much and you DD your car or loud exhausts aren't your cup of tea. The canisters hang very low so if your car is lowered in any way, there is a chance they'll scrape over bumps and curbs. Overall, most people are extremely happy with the sound and performance of the ARK (with a few fitment complaints here and there)
-Next, we have the Stillen Full CatBack Exhaust.
It's, again, one of the cheaper options and is probably the quietest aftermarket exhaust for the G37. It has a deeper tone than the stock exhaust and is louder once you hit 4,000 RPMs or so. Overall it's pretty good if you don't want anything too loud. (Again, some fitment complaints here and there).
-Next, we have the Borla Catback Exhaust.
I don't know too many people who run it and I haven't heard it in person, but you can find some YouTube videos out there.
-Magnaflow makes one as well.
Again I haven't heard much about it and I don't know too many people who run that set-up. I can't comment too much on the sound or quality.
-Also, the Invidia Gemini Catback system is pretty popular.
I've heard some complaints about the way it sounds but it's one of the cheapest catback set-ups you can buy. ($940 on eBay)
Now we're moving on to the more expensive and louder stuff.
-Next, we have the Fast Intentions Catback Exhaust.
It's louder than stock and it's slightly more expensive than the other two options. There's not many complaints about this one and it sounds pretty good throughout the powerband. They are made-to-order so it takes a couple weeks before each one is made and sent out to you.
-MXP makes a pretty nice set-up and you can find a few people running it around the forums.
It sounds really nice and it's loud when you want it to be and quiet when you don't. I haven't heard any complaints regarding build quality or fitment issues.
-Next up is the Motordyne Shockwave E370.
This exhaust is one of the louder set-ups available and it'll run you a pretty penny. It's loud all the way through the RPMs and it screams above 3500. It'll set off car alarms and wake your neighbors.
-Lastly (I know you wanted a FULL exhaust) but there's the Meisterschaft axle-back system.
It's pretty much agreed that it's the loudest set-up around and I believe one of the nicest sounding. It can be quiet down low but it'll scream like an F1 car in the upper RPMs. It's the most expensive axle-back there is and more expensive than most cat-backs. If you like loud exhausts, it's probably still to loud for your tastes.
I'm probably missing a few but these are the major ones. A simple search of the forums will provide you with reviews of each of these exhausts. When you're ready to buy, the vendor section in the forums will probably help you sort out the best price.
Personally, I just placed my order for the Motordyne E370 today. (Shoutout to JM Auto Sports) I'm really looking forward to mounting it and I can't wait to hear it.
In terms of performance gains, an exhaust alone won't do much. The best thing to do is get an intake system (I see you're already planning on it), then get an exhaust, and finally get an UPRev tune from a performance shop. That's where you're gonna see the most performance gain. It all comes down to personal preference and what YOU want to hear when you start your car each morning. Good luck with your search.

if you want deeper but not too loud, then go ARK. My car is a daily driver and its deep enough. Plus, it would not be annoying because of loudness or rice sound.
As for the stillen intake, I also have it, and it is the best for hp, but the install sucks and fitment is a slight issue (although easily fixable).

I stayed with STillen all the way. Gen3 CAI, Stillen cat back exhaust and went a step further with their HFC's which did add a little rasp under acceleration. Combined with a new pulley and tune dyno'd out at 330 RWhp
Ill chime in here, Been through about 6 exhaust setups. Not sarcastic.
1. Megan Axleback, - No powergains, just mainly for sound and some Ti Tips. Definitely clean.
2. Tanabe + Y pipe - Great sounding exhaust, not really any noticeable power gains, CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!!! Had a ton of compliments on how clean it sounds and the dual canisters look great from the rear view.
3. Invidia Gemini - Deep and Clean sounding, felt some butt dyno gains. And the look is still nice.
4. MXP - Raspy and LOUD.
5. Ark (Twice Bought) - Looks the best, sounds one of the cleanest and deeper than the tanabe. And of course gains from the butt dyno. I had to get it again bc I loved driving down the road having people point at the rear of my car while I pass them looking at the canisters.
6. Back at ARK GRIP.
Sorry its not too detailed but im at work,
all in all, Ark (Clean/deep) wins. IMO.
I would like to actually try FI.
