G35 Exhaust vs G37

Hey I'm new to all this & hope I posted this in the right place,
This probably got asked a lot but the only thread I found was for stock exhaust differences,
I think the G35 has a better stock exhaust note, but if both cars were to get the same aftermarket exhaust which would sound better in your opinion.
would a g37 have the same grumble as the g35

Welcome to the site. Not sure if it would be exact but should be close as I don't think there were any other changes except for the VVEL setup and actual motor displacement. I'm moving this to the exhaust folder for better response (hopefully)

I think they might sound similar, as far as overall tone and volume, but I think you would get noticeably different sounds. The G35 has a dual cat, but a single collection pipe before going to a single or dual exit muffler. The G37 has a dual cat system with a midpipe and a dual entrance dual exit canister (coupe), or a true dual axleback exhaust.

Stock to stock? Probably the G35 exhaust. As far as aftermarket, that's way too varied for me to even touch.

Is this a sedan or coupe discussion? I think the G35 Coupe was known for it's intoxicating exhaust note. The G35 sedan used small, free flowing mufflers stock, but also had mammoth resonators. Once you replaced the resonators, the sedan sounded almost identical. The G37 sedan sounds better than the first gen, and the Y-pipe design looks like the once highly sought after Z midpipe. However, the mufflers are large, so I'm wondering if a better tone could be picked up by replacing with some nice aftermarket mufflers from someone like Magnaflow. I know there are axleback options, but adding a short piece of same size as stock pipe to a muffler does not warrant 500-800 dollars. The G37 Coupe exhaust is a single collector design, which is fairly different all together.
