Top Speed Pro-1 Intake

Does anyone have any experience with them? It's time to replace my drop in filters, but came across this in my search. Really wasn't in the market for an SRI, but for an extra $100 or so, it makes sense. Anyone know about fitment, quality, etc?

First time I've seen those, I have their exhaust and it's been just fine for over a couple years now. The price is good for what you get and you're getting quality filters. From the pics it doesn't appear there's much heat shielding so that might be an issue or maybe it's just not showing in the pics. It would be nice to see a pic of it actually installed, might ask TopSpeed if they have one. They're pretty good about phone contact.

Without the shields, are we talking that big of an issue? The G is my daily driver with no track days, dyno, etc.

It looks like the company as a whole puts out quality at a low price point, so I may just bite.

I would say yes. The stock air box is sealed. Also the VQ motor puts out a lot of heat. I would say with out the heat sheilds you would heat soak the intakes pretty quick. Now for daily driving it may not be that noticeable but the car would probably feel sluggish. This is why I prefer the Takeda since the filter sits in a cool area. All aluminum intake tubes are still susceptible to heat too though. Besides the cost factor this is another reason I have not got a cold air intake yet. The performance gains are just not there in my opinion.

Hmm. I always thought that an SRI is an SRI with or without shields, only because at the end of the day, they're still sitting inside the engine bay

Unless you just want extra sound. A wix air filter is 6.98$ each on rockauto.

I've had my Injen SRI over the hot desert summer and I didn't notice any lack of power during the heat of the day. The heat shielding seems to at least help in that regard. The Injen SRI uses the OEM flex tubes which don't get as hot as the metal ones so that's probably another aid.
As far as still being in the engine bay, they are, but rather than pulling air from all directions under the closed & confined hot motor it blocks off the area of primary heat and pulls from the source of fresh air.
They don't block all the heat but I'd much rather have them than try to do without.

Yeah, I spoke with the guys over there and they said to not use the shields on the G.

Is it a clearance issue? I'd try to find a way to get them to fit

I think I may look at the R2C now. Would be a good $150 more, but you'd get the shields and a better system.
