R2C + Stillen CBE

Just ordered my R2C intake for my 2013 G37S Sedan. Just wondering, will increased engine airflow alter the sound of my Stillen CBE? Would you recommend resetting my ECU after installation? Also, is a tune recommended? If so which is a good tune that can be changed back to stock if needed?

Thank you, sorry for all the questions lol

I'll answer these in reverse order.

Any tune can be returned back to normal. It's just a reprogram of your ECU.
If you plan on changing out your stock cats in the new future, I would hold off on getting a professional tune until you actually get all the bits put in. You'll just have to tune again.

Resetting the ECU via the pedal dance is kind of questionable as to how much that helps, it certainly doesn't hurt; knock yourself out and do it.

Yes the increased airflow will make some sort of note change, I don't know exactly how it will react, but the increased airflow will probably make it slightly deeper at midrange revs. Changing your cats out will do more to change your sound.

Right, assuming you've only changed the CBE and the intakes, you'll still have the restrictive stock cats. IMO, that's the biggest thing you can change.

Your talking about HFCs right? Granted my car is a lease i'm not sure if I plan on doing anymore mods after the intake. So should I just tune it now?

Yeah, HFC's make a pretty big difference, but they are definitely a pain in the ***. I have a DIY posted on how to do it. No bueno.

If you don't plan on doing any more mods, yeah, I guess you could tune it. You could probably squeeze a few more HP out of it with a tune.
