Throttle quirk?

I was driving earlier today and I was in DS and I was trying to lean into the throttle a little bit. I pushed the peddle almost halfway down and nothing happened. It didn't shift gears, it didn't even start accelerating. I was already driving about 40mph. But after a few seconds of leaving the peddle at half way it down shifted two gears and took off. The rest of my drive the throttle felt very loose, both in drive and in sport. Once I turned my car off and back on and it went away. It almost felt like something was blocking the throttle response, but I'm not a mechanic so I have no clue what it could have actually been, if anything at all. This is the first time its done this but it makes me nervous. Any ideas or suggestions?

Yeah I had it done back in September. It fixed the problems that I was having before, and have noticed that they've come back and I asked them to flash it again and they said it wouldn't do any good because it already has the latest update.

I cleaned the throttle bodies and it did the trick. They were filthy. Here is the DIY

Also here is the transmission re-flash thread.

My '12 does this on occasion usually after a left hand turn. Next time I'm at the dealer I'm going to ask to check my software version anyway. Hard to believe my throttle bodies would be dirty at 6900 miles

If i remember correctly, the 2010 G's weren't affected by the TSB update because they already had the update, and that its mainly the 2009s, I could be wrong though. But like you said, its worth asking anyway, never hurts. If you do have the latest update I would try cleaning your TB anyway, its not a hard DIY at all, I don't know much about cars mechanically speaking, and I was able to do it.

Same situation with my 12 G it happened to me last night but it was a bit weird. I made a right turn and floored it in DS mode since there was no cars. The car started to change gears but no power coming on...and the rest of the drive home felt off also. Driving in D mode the car usually shifts before 3k but last night it was going to around 4500k before shifting...any ideas?

My 12 XS does this all the time as I mentioned in another thread. I took it to the dealer who had nothing to offer other than suggesting I call consumer affairs. I have about a year and half left to deal with it then I'll get rid of it and get something else. I think it's safe to say it's not going to get fixed any time soon seeing as they haven't been able to get it right after all these years. I'm guessing the Germans are better programmers, so I'll head there next.

Like I mentioned a couple of posts ago, try cleaning your throttle bodies. TB cleaner only costs like $6 so even if it doesn't work for you you're not out a lot of money.

Try taking it to the dealership. If they cant find anything then try cleaning them.
